<p>PURPOSE:To smoothly transfer the running speed of a vehicle from constant speed to constant deceleration by accurately calculating the deceleration and predetermined parameter and thus generating a deceleration starting pattern. CONSTITUTION:When a vehicle enters into a deceleration section, a position detector 8 operates and feeds a signal to an integrator 9 and a processor 11. The integrator 9 operates with a reset signal 18 and calculates signals from a pulse pickup 6 to calculate the running distance X of the vehicle after entering into the deceleration section. The processor 11 produces a difference signal between the pattern signal and the actual vehicle and instructs a speed parameter Vk and a distance parameter Xk to a square root function generator 10. The generator 10 generates a deceleration starting pattern and applies it to the processor 11. The processor 11 thus compares the speed V of the vehicle with the deceleration starting pattern V'p and generates a constant speed instruction 16 when V<V'p and a deceleration transfer instruction 17 when V>V'p.</p> |
