<p>An electronic calculator, esp. a pocket calculator, has an additional keyboard with a mechanical locking facility constituting a multiple location electromechanical memory. This simply facilitates the multiplying or dividing of different numbers by selected constants easily set by unskilled operators. The constants remain set when the calculator is switched off and are permanently readable. One or more electromechanical memory inputs are provided, each having several keys allowing selection of the stored input values. The different memory keys are associated with different pre-programmed calculator operations. Each electromechanical memory has an electromechanical adjustable decimal point which slides transversely above or below the adjustable numbers. This facility may be used for example, for currency conversions while on holiday abroad. In such a case, the fixed constant will be conversion factors.</p> |
