Catenary suspension for power cables - uses insulator chains on mast traverses with conductors held by connecting plates

Stable location of overhead conductors is even when subject to strong wind pressure, is ensured by the catenary suspension on mast traverses using insulator chains. The insulators (2) at the suspension point of conductor bundle (5) are linked by metal sheet (3A) exhibiting a quadrangle shape. The sheet is of stainless steel while the sheets of other connecting points in the transmission line may have different configuration. The shape of the sheets connecting the insulators as well as the linkage spacing determine the angle of sway for a given wind load on the transmission line.
