Easy removal of headlamp without complete stripping of the clamping unit is ensured by a bolt (4) fastening the headlamp housing (1) and the holding frame (2) by an engaging clip (5). The lug of the housing exhibits an elongated slot (10) while the lug (9) of the frame-(2) has an open slot (11) allowing its removal or shift. The end of clip (5) is bent over with a lug (12) snugly pushed over the edge of the lug (7) in the housing. Clamping is carried out by tightening bolt (4) in the threaded hole (6) of the clip. In another design, the lug with the open end forms part of a riveted swivelling member with the slot fitting over the bolt. The lug includes a small L-shaped portion to provide a finger grip.
