The limiter circuit provides a loss-free operation of high voltage switching transistor stages with very high clock pulse frequency, e.g. in excess of 20 kHz. It is formed by a parallel oscillation circuit, consisting of an inductance and a capacitor, coupled to the pulse circuit by one or several diodes, or a thyristor. Preferably the inductance and capacitor are in a direct parallel connection free from the operational direct voltage. To these parallel-connected elements may be added a direct current source, in which case the capacitor would be under operational direct voltage. Instead of a high voltage switching transistor stage a different electronic switch may be used. Such switching stages are applicable to motor controls. The limiter circuit provides control of over-voltage surges occurring during switching off, without any of other additional components.
|
