The torque control for a tractor has the hitch linked to a drag monitor which measures the drag on the attachments, e.g. plough. When the drag is suddenly removed, as the attachment is lifted out of the ground, the sensor operates a throttle connection to reduce the torque of the engine (3). The throttle coupling can be a mechanical link (47) to the throttle controls, or can operate on the fuel injection pump. The device prevents the tractor from lurching forward at the end of each furrow, at a time when the attention of the driver is on operating the hitch.
|
