A fuse for medium-voltage installations is described, in the case of which an extinguishing-gas storage space (30) is provided in the interior of the fuse, the extinguishing gas in which extinguishing-gas storage space (30) is compressed by a spring-prestressed piston (12) when the interrupting-conductor arrangement (14, 16) burns through and which, guided by an outer nozzle (26), blasts the arc which forms. The flexible wall (17) at the same time releases the lock (20, 22) of the tripping pin (18). In the event of a large internal pressure, the flexible wall (17) is destroyed and the pressure is relieved via the bursting points (25). <IMAGE>
