1410784 Liquid detergent concentrates ALBRIGHT & WILSON Ltd 7 Feb 1973 [7 Feb 1972 26 May 1972] 5519/72 and 25054/72 Heading C5D An aqueous concentrate containing 30 to 70% by wt. of a water-soluble salt of a sulphate of an alkoxylated aliphatic alcohol contains, as solubilizer, 1 to 10% by wt. of an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, alkanolamine, amine or ammonium salt of an aromatic sulphonic acid of formula: R u Y a Ar(SO 3 H) b X c wherein R is C 1 -C 4 alkyl; Y is carboxylic acid; X is OH or C 1 -C 4 alkoxy; Ar is a benzene or naphthalene nucleus; a is 0 to 3; b is 1 to 3; c is 0 to 3; u is 0 to 4; with the proviso that b is at least 2 unless a + c is 1 or more. Typical solubilizers are benzene m-disulphonic acid, meta-xylene disulphonic acid, para-xylene disulphonic acid, 1,3,5-benzene trisulphonic acid, phenol disulphonic acid, phenol trisulphonic acid, naphthalene disulphonic acid and 3,5-disulphobenzoic acid in the form of the sodium salts. The concentrates are diluted with water to form shampoos, bubble baths and liquid cleaning compositions. Other anionic surfactants, e.g. sulphosuccinates and alkyl sulphates; and nonionic surfactants, e.g. monoalkylolamides, may be present. The concentrates remain freeflowing when diluted with water. |
