The foldable garden chair can be adjusted to various positions and is supported on legs. The top end of one pair of legs has a transverse strut, the ends of which rest in notches on the left- and right-hand sides of the seat. The notches are in a plate fixed to each inside of the sides of the seat. The back of one side is hinged to the end of the long side of a flat, U-shaped bracket. The centre part of the bracket holds the strut in the notches. The other arm of the bracket is on the front edge of the plate, to which it is pressed by a spring. The end of a hand-operated bolt is pushed under a right-angled, wide projection.
