Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein neues optisch aktives, besisches Derivat des 9,10-Aethanoanthracens, das R-(-)-α-[(Methylamino)methyl]-9,10-äthanoanthracen-9 (10H)-äthanol der Formel I <IMAGE> und seine Saureadditionssalze, Verfahren zur Herstellung dieser neuer Stoffe, solche enthaltende pharmazeutische Präparate und ihre Verwendung als Antidepressiva, Sedativa oder Antihistaminica.
