PURPOSE:To decrease oxidation loss, by forming a layer of Al-Co or Al-Cr alloy on the metal surface of a fire grate, a burner, or the tuyere of a blast furnace which is used at high temp. CONSTITUTION:The surface of heat-resistant steel or pure copper which is used for a fire grate, a burner, the tuyere of a blast furnace, or the lance nozzle of a converter is plated with Co or Cr, then the plated surface is covered with Al or Al is diffused to the plated surface. Subsequently Co or Cr is diffused to form an alloy layer of Al-Co or Al-Cr. This method decreases oxidation loss even after long exposure to high temp. and gives heat resistance 30-40 times that of conventional material. |
