PURPOSE:After the taking-off of the upper yarn is stopped and the lower yarn is cut, the package is moved to the locking position, thereby the positions where automatic yarn knotting can not be done are made to stop without interference from adjacent positions and reduction of the package in quality. CONSTITUTION:The case where the yarn-catching signals from the upper and lower yarn detectors 19 and 23 are not obtained within a predetermined period of time after the start of yarn-knotting operation is judged impossible to knot the yarns and the position is stopped. At fitst, sliver-cutting switch 28 is turned on to cut the sliver 11 between sliver cutter 12 and draft mechanism 2. Then, package 8 is moved to the locking position by cradle gripped 20 to release from rotary traverse roller 6 and fixed. Thereby the damage of the package is prevented and it is shown that the position has been stopped. The package 8 may be moved after the lower yarn is cut and the end is inserted into the package surface. |
