1465462 Rotary printing HEIDELBERGER DRUCKMASCHINEN AG 23 April 1975 [24 April 1974] 16832/75 Heading B6C A sheet-fed rotary printing unit comprises means for transferring sheets from one impression cylinder to another for first or perfection printing, and means to convert from firstto perfection-printing and for format adjustment. For perfection printing.-A pinion 51 is moved into engagement with the driving gear 53 of a storage drum 5 by an adjusting shaft 44 which is also used to move a turning drum 6 to its starting position, at which it is released from neighbouring units while the drive gear 68 is turned to the perfection position. This position is found by a drop-in pin which springs into a hole and then the rear edge 26 of a sheet is engaged in grippers on drum 6 which is then retightened for perfection printing to begin. Format adjustment.-Stop recesses 30 on claws 29 are manually engaged with a bar on segments 11 of the storage drum 5, this releases limit switch 36 which removes safety magnet plunger 56 thus allowing pinion 59, on shaft 44, access to a toothed segment 60 which achieves the required format by moving storage drum segments 8. A common slide scale device on the outside of drive gear 68 indicates the relative dispositions of the drums and of the storage drum and sheet support means. Segments 8 which were loosened for adjustment are fixed by tightening clamping nuts 19. |
