摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent engagement shocks from occurring in a friction engagement unit in a motor vehicle both while the vehicle is running and when the vehicle is stopped, by connecting a shock control valve to an intensifying chamber of a regulator valve which is used for regulating an increase in an engagement liquid pressure in the friction engagement unit. CONSTITUTION:A shock control valve 170 is connected to an intensifying chamber 181g of a regulator valve 180 which is used for regulating an increase in an engagement liquid pressure in a friction engagement unit. The shock control valve 170 is adapted to supply, only when a governor pressure is generated, a liquid pressure received from a valve which is operated in accordance with the degree of opening of a throttle. This structure conducting a checking operation with reference to a governor pressure as to whether the vehicle is running or whether the vehicle is stopped. Accordingly, an initial adjusting pressure of a modulator can be set to a higher level while the vehicle is running, and to a lower level when the vehicle is topped. As a result, the friction engagement unit is put in an engaged state comparatively speedily while the vehicle is running, and slowly when the vehicle is stopped. Thus, engagement shocks can be prevented from occurring in a friction engagement unit both while the vehicle is running and when the vehicle is stopped.
