Internal deposits on pipe-work are removed by filling the pipe-work with an aq. soln. which conducts ultra-sound and which contains an organophosphoric ester obtd. by reacting LiF with an ethylphosphoric acid. An ultrasonic source is then slowly moved inside the pipe-work to bring about the dissolution of the deposits. The appts. used in the process consists of an ultra-sound generator connected to a metallic focalising rod which terminates in a point of emission. The process is used partic. for cleaning industrial metal pipe-work carrying internal deposits of tartar, silica, limestone. The process provides a simple and efficient means of cleaning the pipe-work. |
