<p>1519473 Copolymerization of ethylene and butadiene ANIC SpA 17 July 1975 [2 Aug 1974] 30117/75 Heading C3P Ethylene and butadiene are copolymerized in a hydrocarbon or halohydrocarbon solvent using a catalyst system comprising (a) a vanadium compound (b) a compound of the formula AlR1R2X where R1 and R2 are selected from hydrogen and C1-C18 hydrocarbyl groups and X is halogen (c) a Lewis or Bronsted acid other than an organic compound containing a -CX3 group where X is halogen and (d) an organic-compound containing a -CX3 group. In the examples the copolymerization is carried out in toluene in the presence of hydrogen vanadium di or triacetylacetonate, AlEt2Cl, and either AlEtCl2 and one of methyltrichloroacetate, CCl4, trichloroacetic acid or trichloroacetic acid chloride or trichloroacetic acid.</p> |
