PURPOSE:To desorb the S corresponding to the amt of SOx adsorbed, and to regenerate a denitrating catalyst up to extent which does not practically cause trouble, by a method wherein the catalyst is heated in an atmosphere of a region with comparatively low temperatures at a stage which the activity of the catalyst lowers to a certain extent. CONSTITUTION:Only SOx adsorbed in the stuck S portion is desorbed by heating- treating a denitrating catalyst in an inert gas or an air current in a region of the comparatively low temperatures of 400-500 deg.C, preferably, approximate 450 deg.C for 1-5hr at a stage which the activity of the catalyst deteriorates up to 40-70%. Thus, the deteriorating catalyst is regenerated up to value extremely near to the 80% of the initial activity. This regenerating method does not aim at the regenerating effect of 100%, regenerates the catalyst up to extent which does not practically cause trouble, and can be utilized for the regeneration of all catalysts, whose deterioration is mainly caused from SOx. |
