The implant (6) for the stimulation of callus formation in fractured bones and traumatic pseudoarthrosis is intended for use in conjunction with a device for fixing and/or supporting the bone to be healed. It contains a ferromagnetic vibrating body (12), which is excitable in the axial direction by an external alternating-current magnetic field source (11), within a sleeve-shaped non-magnetisable sheath (13) surrounding the vibrating body in liquid-tight fashion. The implant may additionally contain a heat source arranged inside the sleeve and excitable by the alternating-current magnetic field in order to heat the sheath. The invention is aimed at an implant of relatively simple structure which can be used in conjunction with conventional fracture-stabilising means. <IMAGE>
