Process for the preparation of the antibiotic methoxymethyl ester of p-hydroxyhetacillin

The methoxymethyl ester of p-hydroxyhetacillin of the formula I <IMAGE> is prepared from a penicillin of the formula <IMAGE> where R denotes an organic radical, via the penicillin ester, and also via methoxymethyl 6-aminopenicillanate and methoxymethyl amoxicillanate, which is reacted with acetone. The compound is an antibiotic.
