PURPOSE:To facilitate the opening or closing of the checking chamber door while ensuring safe entry into and departure from the chamber by introducing a part of cooling air into the checking chamber through an opening provided on a partition between the body of the electrical rotary machine and the checking chamber to make the pressure therein almost the same as the atmospheric pressure. CONSTITUTION:An opening 23 is provided at the end plate of the stator frame 11 serving as the partition between a checking chamber 6 housing a bearing device 8 and a current collector 9 and the chamber 14 of the electrical rotary machine body 14 so as to introduce a part of the cooling air with a self-cooling fan 16 into the checking chamber 6. A shutter 25 and a protection cover 26 are provided outside the opening 23 to prevent the infiltration of foreign matter and protect human body. With such an arrangement, the air pressure within the checking chamber 6 is maintained at a level almost equal to the atmospheric pressure or slightly positive. This can facilitate the opening or closing of the door 7 of the checking chamber thereby assuring a safe and easy entry into or departure from the checking chamber. |
