Mixing and pelletizing machine comprises a trough formed of flexible material having a rotor assembly which rotates at about 100 rpm to provide 400-150 ft/min. blade tip speed. The trough is spring biased to resist movement of the trough in the direction of rotation of the rotor assembly. The rotor blades have flat converging surfaces which meet to form a sharp leading cutting edge facing te direction of the rotor rotation. A row of hanging chain elements positioned over them by the rotor assembly. Used for converting fine prods, e.g. limestone and gypsum into pellets. Material build-up in the trough is prevented because the trough continuously flexes as the rotor assembly rotates. The rotor blades are shaped to prevent material build-up on them.
