The mechanical interlock is for connectors, typically electrical types. The connector consists basicall of a male section carrying a two part claw which engages with a locking surface on the female part. The claw mechanism is attached to one side of the male section (51) outer wall and consits of a fixed blade (59) which in normally sprung inwards towards the plug axis. The second part consists of a rigid blade (56) having an inverted 'T' shape the horizontal stroke carrying an outward facing claw. This part is profiled such that when the first blade is sprung into a slot (B) in the socket (70) wall it rides over a shoulder on the blade and is locked in the slot by it. Retraction is allowed by the blade moving upward forcing the claw to disengage.
|
