<p>The audio-visual unit is fitted to the instrument panel of the vehicle so that it can be seen and heard by the driver without causing disturbance. The unit plays sound films or magnetic tapes relating to maps and itineraries and has slow and rapid forwards and reverse controls. Separate loudspeakers and screen can be fitted. The material can be prepared in advance to instantenously obtain precise locations by pushbutton control. This can also by synchronised automatically with the progress made during the journey, in order to provide information as required.
