<p>The system of working a frame for a press uses a screw-nut with a reversible type of thread. The movements of this, one way or the other, lengthens or reduces the distance between two opposing slides. The contact of these produces a stamping effect in two half matrices. The shock is absorbed by the threads of the screw-nut. The frame serves only to support the moving parts and does not transmit shocks to the ground, this reducing foundation costs. The weight of the complete equipment is less than normal.</p> |
