Laminates of card and printed film are made bonding continuous card and film together using transverse stripes of adhesive at intervals along the strip. The supported film is then printed on its exposed face, and the exposed face of the card is coated with adhesive. Several such composite panels are cut from the continuous films, superimposed and laminated under pressure, so that the printed films bond with the adhesive coated card faces, and are subsequently sepd. from their original carrier card by trimming off the zones bonded by the transverse adhesive strips on the original continuous films. For mfr. of laminates where the print is on the internal interface and hence protected from superficial damage by the body of the film. The film is kept flat while being printed and again while being laminated to the card upon which the film is to remain.
|
