Terminal connector for conductors on chip - includes tapered ends to facilitate chip insertion with each terminal fitting into grip between two fingers

A typical application of the terminal connector is to the construction of a terminal array for connection to a resistor network formed on a chip. Each terminal connector ends in two short fingers (12a, 12b). The fingers are inclined towards each other at their free ends, and at least one is chamfered at its free end to assist entry of the chip. The relevant part (10) of the chip enters between the two fingers, of which only one may be used to make an electrical contact. The design supersedes the version where the finger ends were bent outwards to act as a guide for chip entry. It requires relatively little material, and takes up little space on the surface of the chip.
