The safety helmet has a visor (6) made of a transparent plastics pane (7). The visor has a top frame (8) with side parts (9) enclosing at least the top of the side edges of the transparent plastics pane (7). The side parts (9) are roughly triangular, with the hinge (10) of the visor flap situated in the angle pointing towards the back of the helmet. The front of the helmet has a protruding ridge (2) surrounding the entire helmet. Catches hold the helmet visor (6) in various positions. A sprung pin protruding from the skull part (1) of the helmet fits into one of several holes in the plastics pane (7).
