Reinforced concrete tank for electricity transformer station - has sockets fitting in corner grooves and firmly retaining cable ends

The tank has a bottom, a top (2) and four vertical sides (3), the sides extending above the top. Each vertical corner of the walls is grooved (5), the groove extending as a regular curve (6) in the top (2). the grooves provide non slip beds for the lifting cables (8) which have rings (9) for a lifting hook (10). The bottom ends of the cables are fixed in tubular sleeves (7), the sleeves having sockets bedded deep into the tank wall. The sockets are held there by bars (12) which pass through the walls and through holes in the centres of the sockets.
