Self-monitoring mechanical coupling torque measurement device - checks null correction and torque and angular position measurement circuits

A device for measuring torques applied to mechanical couplings contains a torque sensor in a bridge circuit, an angular, position sensor, automatic null point correction circuits, boundary value logic and a multiple channel evaluation unit. It achieves continuous automatic self-monitoring. A null point correction monitoring circuit is connected to a null point correction voltage comparator and contains an evaluation circuit for the maximum permissible correction value. Automatically switched resistors monitor the torque measurement arrangement to the adjusted tolerance points of the measurement bridge. For monitoring the angular position measurement device alternating current of defined frequency is automatically fed to the sensor coil. The frequencies supplied corresp. to the upper and lower measurement limits.
