<p>Printing equipment is used by establishments with several branch offices to print envelopes or cheque books. The system prints characters from a control signal as the printer is moved manually across the item being printed. A support block (10) has a central opening (11) in which a moving block (12) can be displaced on guide shafts (13, 14). The support block is placed over the item (15) to be printed and the moving block is displaced by an operater using the handle (16) on the upper part. An internal casing (17) contains the printing mechanism. The print control signals are sent from a signal source (20) connected to a central computer via a cable (40). A detector provides validation signals and is inhibited by a switch (24) on the handle to allow the moving block to be positioned.</p> |
