<p>a process for installing a tie-rod for the installation of moorings for tanks and drilling platforms in a deep marine site comprises creating a bore-hole, putting the tie-rod in and sealing it, building a block at the outlet of the bore hole, putting the tie-rod under tension and anchoring it. The process consists of first fixing a head surrounding the tie-rod at a point of the tie-rod destined to be near the orifice of the bore-hole. The head is integral with a regularly distributed arrangement of hydraulic jacks and terminated towards the bore-hole by a surface symmetrical about the axis. The tie-rod is put into place in the bore-hole and sealed. A block of concrete is then cast between the symmetrical surface and the orifice of the bore-hole, filling, around the tie-rod without contact with it, the space between the surface and the orifice. After the concrete has set, the jacks are actuated by a settable fluid under press. and the press. is maintained until the fluid has set. Human intervention is reduced to a min., or eliminated altogether, in putting a tie-rod in place, putting it under tension and anchoring it, in a bore hole.</p> |
