PURPOSE:To enhance surface hardness, etc., by forming on the surface of a plastic lens base a hardened coat film containing mainly the reaction product of diallylidene-pentaerythritol with an unsaturated alcohol having a hydroxyl group and a (meth)acryloyl group in one molecule. CONSTITUTION:(a) 1mol of diallylidene-pentaerythritol represented by formula I and (b) 1-2.2mol of an unsaturated alcohol having a hydroxyl group and a (meth)acryloyl group in one molecule, such as 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate or pentaerthritol trimethacrylate are reacted in presence of an acidic catalyst to give, for a typical example, a reacton product represented by formula II. This reaction product is coated on a plastic lens base made of polycarbonate or the like in a film thickness of 10-300mu and hardened by a method, such as heating or light irradiation. |
