PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to provide an independent rotation sensor for each cylinder and thereby simplify the structure by using a rotation sensor which produces an angle signal expressing a common divisor angle of the ignition time intervals and a few reference signals at every rotation of the shaft. CONSTITUTION:The ignition device contains rotation sensor 1. Rotation sensor 1 is provided with signal rotor 11, having on its circumferential surface a train of magnetic poles provided with angular information and a train of magnetic poles provided with reference information, shaft 12 connected to the crankshaft, detection head 13, which detects the angular information and reference information of rotation sensor 1, and signal processing circuit 14. The output of this rotation sensor 1 is inputted to control circuit 2. The ignition time signal generation circuit inside this circuit counts angular signals based on the reference signals of rotation sensor 1, obtains ignition time signals of time intervals corresponding to the time intervals and distributes them to a plurality of cylinders. By the ignition time signal, igniter 3 and ignition coil 4 are operated and a spark is produced at spark plug 5. |
