1443744 Heavy-duty laundry compositions COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 24 July 1973 [25 July 1972] 35247/73 Heading C5D A free-flowing, spray-dried, built, synthetic organic detergent composition suitable for heavy-duty laundry use comprises (a) as fabric softener a mixture of mono- and diester salts of phosphoric acid and a C 14-20 alcohol/ethylene oxide adduct, (b) a synthetic anionic organic detergent, (c) an inorganic builder salt and (d) 20-200%, based on the weight of the mono- and diesters, of an adduct of a C 14-20 alcohol and 25-75 moles of ethylene oxide. The composition is prepared by (i) preparing an aqueous mixture of (a), (b) and (c) in a crutcher, (ii) adding (d) and (iii) spray drying the mixture. The composition may also include C 6-15 alkyl mono- and diester salts of phosphoric acid. The crutcher mix may be prepared at elevated temperature. Ingredients specified include: anionic detergents: sodium linear dodecyl benzene sulphonate, inorganic builder salts: sodium silicate, pentasodium tripolyphosphate, other ingredients: sodium hydroxide, sodium sulphate, optical brightener, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, antioxidant, pigment. |
