The emergency disembarkation system comprises an inflatable chute (10) and platform (13) stowed at a point (11) on the ship's side (12) above the water line. The assembly can be launched into a position in which the chute extends from the point (11) to the platform floating on the water. It further comprises inflatable life rafts (61, 62) stowed near the point (11) which are launched at the same time and are connected to the platform so that they float next to the platform or can be moved to that position. The rafts may be connected by lines to the platform. These lines may operate the raft inflation systems. |
