Molten slag granulator - with extracting elevator sprockets above fluid level of water bath for corrosion protection

Molten slag granulating plant includes a basin which is divided by a partition into a granulation section and an extn. section. The latter is equipped with an endless bucket elevator which picks up the granulated slag and discharges it over a rising top strand on sprockets into a rotary dryer. The sprockets are situated above the fluid level. This keeps the shafts of the sprockets clear of the hot and corrosive fluid. The plant provides efficient de-watering and drying of the slag granules.
