The hydrostatic radial-load and thrust bearing is esp. for machine-tool spindles. Two multiple thrust bearings (j, m) are mounted as close as possible to the plane in which the radial load on the bearing acts. There are two radial-load bearings (g, h) on the same side of the thrust bearings, near the point at which an external force acts on the spindle. The thrust bearings absorb the resultant of thrust forces and bending moments and the radial-load bearings that of the radial forces.
