<p>An alphanumeric display unit for the characteristics of a transmission station operates from a superhet receiver in a given channel of a frequency band. It has a ROM data store, a RAM buffer store, a symbol generator and a display unit. It provides details such as the location of the transmitter, broadcasting establishment ect. The value of the oscillator frequency allocated to the tuned reception frequency is converted into a channel address by means of an a-d converter. This information is stored in an address register. This address is used to read the stored characteristics from the data store. They are transmitted to the buffer store and from there by a symbols generator to a display unit.</p> |
