The invention relates to an ionising electrode in the form of elongate bands, wires, tubes or the like with ionising tips for use in electric filters in which exhaust gases containing liquid components are cleaned. The function of ionising electrodes of this kind is often impaired by the fact that the liquid components of the exhaust gases are deposited on them and under the influence of inertia forces condensation and electrostatic forces, deposits are formed in particular on the ionising tips. As a result, the points of the highest charge concentration are made more or less inactive and the deposition effect of the electric filter is reduced. The invention is based on the object of avoiding depositions on the ionising tips or substantially reducing them. In order to achieve this object it is provided that in the working position of the ionising electrodes (4) every component of the ionising tip (1) is arranged lower than the point (2) of the ionising tip with the highest charge concentration, i.e. that even the highest connecting point (3) between ionising tip (1) and ionising electrode (4) is situated lower than the said point (2). <IMAGE> |
