PURPOSE:To adjust the width and thickness of mold and improve the working efficiency of continuous casting by letting each wall plate of the mold consisting of four sheets of wall plates slide always on the inside wall of one wall plate out of the other two wall plates of adjoining end faces. CONSTITUTION:In the case of changing the width of the mold, an arbitrary mold width is set by letting the two wall plates of a moving long wall 2 and a horizontally moving short wall 4 slide on the inside surface or end face of the other wall plates in parallel to a stationary long wall 1. In the case of changing the thickness of the mold, an arbitrary mold thickness is set by letting the two wall plates of the moving long wall 2 and vertically moving short wall 3 slide in the direction rectangular to the stationary long wall 1. This stationary long wall 1 assumes the position of the stationary side with respect to the continuous casting machine body in actual operation and the moving long wall 2 assumes the position of the free side. |
