The auxiliary store in a telephone exchange can be accessed by a calling subscriber and used to provide information to them. The store can also be accessed from a coin box and by using a call word and key word made to scan a credit card which then identifies the caller and provides call charge information for that coin box call. The coin box user can also access the store, using the credit card identification, to obtain any information stored in it intended for him and which would have been available to his home telephone. The telephone subscriber can access the store via the switch block and using the common control to set up the call. Information can be input to a section of the store or read out of a further section. All call routing control through the exchange is by the common control. A coin box has a similar access to the store.
|
