Droplets are produced from liqs. by feeding the liq. into a rotating chamber. The liq. is fed at a controlled rate and the volume in the chamber can vary. The liq. is ejected from nozzles on the side of the chamber. The liq. can be pressurised by gas pressure applied to the chamber. A vibrating rod can be introduced into the rotating chamber to create a variable annular gap between it and the outlet to various jets. The liq. is introduced via a stationary line alongside the vibrating rod. Used for atomising very viscous liqs. Gives improved atomisation and less tendancy for droplets to recombine c.f. DT 2845638.
