The recuperative burner for industrial, e.g heat treatment furnaces has a mixing nozzle supplied separately with fuel esp. gas and air. It discharges into a combustion chamber exhausting into a gas duct to which the air duct is to related as to produce a recuperative effect. The air duct (12) consists of three coaxial tubes (13, 14, 16) around a cylindrical combustion chamber (10). The outermost (13) and innermost (16) terminate level with the surrounding exhaust duct (3) inlet which is sealed by an annular disc (15). The middle tube (14) ends further back so that flow to the nozzle (9) is upstream around the chamber.
