<p>The chair comprises a seat and a foot-rest adjustable in elevation. The seat (30, 114), the foot-rest (28, 162) and the back (24) are interconnected so that the seat may pivot from a substantially horizontal position up to a very forwardly inclined position, so that it may be used as a support in an upright position. The common pivoting is achieved by means of a mounting (22; 88, 94; 130, 132, 136, 138) extending from the foot-rest to the back. This mounting may be in a single piece or may be divided into at least two portions. The seat, the foot-rest and/or the back may be adjusted separately on the mounting by means of appropriate devices (46, 50, 60). When the mounting is comprised of several parts, these may be also be interconnected by adjusting devices (98, 140). </p> |
