Fixing industrial plastic tiles onto concrete base - using reinforced plastic cement in joints to allow for expansion and to protect the edges of the tiles

Edges of expansion gaps an industrial floors are protected by a reinforced plastic cement. Floor is laid on a concrete base with expansion gaps at intervals. Over this is laid a covering e.g. in plastic. To allow for expansion but at the same time to protect the edges, the gap is filled with a plastic or synthetic resin with a steel filler for reinforcement. A polythene insert is fitted into the gap, and the joint is then made using a special tool which projects down into the slot. For use on industrial floors. Gives improved life to the floor by reducing wear and damage due to passage of trucks etc with metal wheels.
