Initial billet has >=2 axes of symmetry (AOS), and is first rolled into an intermediate prod. with max. two AOS. Further rolling is then used, until shortly prior to final rolling, to obtain a second intermediate prod. with only one AOS; final rolling then results in the finished prod. The initial billet may possess max. two AOS, and is rolled into an intermediate prod. with one AOS. Alternatively, an upper and a lower roll, i.e. two rolls with parallel axes, are used to make prod., followed by the use of sets of three rolls arranged in the form of stars for mfg. prods. Prod. is pref. oval, the two ACS possessing length ratios of 1:1.05 to 1:1.4. Prevents tilting or malformation of the prods. being rolled.
