An improved thermosetting coating composition comprises a film forming component and an amino compound, which cures by reacting between the amino compound and hydroxy functionality present on the film forming material. The curing is catalysed by an oligomeric hydroxy functional organophosphate ester of the formula: - wherein N = 1 or 2 and (RO)n-@-(OH)3-n R is selected from mono or dihydroxy radicals containing one or more ester linkages and having a molecular weight of from 120 to 1500.
