MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR OCCASIONAL DISCONNECTION FAULT POSITION OF COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To make it possible to know a fault position of a communication circuit causing an instantaneous-break fault accurately and easily be measuring an interval of time between the sent synchronizing signal of a pulse generator and the reflected pulse synchronizing signal of a reflected-pulse receiver. CONSTITUTION:Sent pulses of pulse generator 12, sent to communication circuit 4-1 to be measured, propagate only toward disconnection fault 11 and are reflected at the disconnection fault point before returning hybrid coil 15. Those reflected pulses appear at input terminal 18 of reflected pulse receiver 17 of coil 15 and sent synchronizing signal terminal 19 of pulse generator 12 and reflected pulse synchronizing signal terminal 20 of receiver 17 are connected to counter 21 to measure an interval of time between two signals. Consequently, the fault position of the communication circuit causing an instantaneous-break fault can be found easily and accurately.
