PURPOSE:To obtain an easy and highly reliable fault detecting means of a rotary rectifier by a method wherein the voltage of an exciter field winding is compared with the output voltage of the rotary rectifier. CONSTITUTION:On a brushless synchronous machine which is consisted of a stator 1, a field winding 2, a rotary rectifier 4, an exciter output winding (rotating side) 5, an exciter field winding (stationary side) 6, etc., the output voltage of the rotary rectifier 4 are led out through slip rings 3 and brushes 8 to a fixed terminal, and compare it with the voltage of the exciter field winding led out from a terminal 7. If the brushless synchronous machine is in the stable rotating condition, the voltage of the terminal 7 and that of the slip rings 3 keeps constant ratio. But when any element that consits the rotary rectifier 4 gets in out of order, the voltage of the slip rings 3 decreases greatly. Therefor by discriminating the both voltage using a comparator, detect the fault of the rotary rectifier 4. |
