A method of adhering a textile fabric tennis ball cover (16) to a tennis ball core (18) comprises providing a film of hot-melt adhesive (12) between the cover (16) and the core (18) when the cover (16) is assembled on the core (18) and then causing the hot-melt adhesive (12) to melt in contact with the core (18) and the cover (16), preferably by R-F or microwave heating. Upon solidifying, the adhesive (12) adheres the cover (16) to the core (18) of the tennis ball (20) with a high degree of tenacity.
